A total of 600 patients were studied under controlled trial, all suffering from cerebral palsy. Ages of these patients ranged from 4 yrs to 10 yrs. 350 of these patients had history of epilepsy also. All 600 patients had paraplegic cerebral palsy. All patients were transfused with 40 million neural stem cells. Post stem cell booster included iv methylprednisone 125 mg. In first week post stem cell 540 patients showed a bit of hyperactivity and rest 60 didn't show any response in the first 7 days post stem cell. By the end of first month post stem cell all 600 children showed increase in urge to speak. Till the end of first month post stem cell transfusion 90% of children exhibited cessation of epileptic fits. By the start of 2nd month post stem cell 580 children showed increase in muscle tone of legs and arms. This betterment in muscle tone improved every month and till 8 months post stem cell 60% of children started sitting on their own and by 14 months they acquired standing positions with or without support. With continuous physiotherapy 40% showed walking capability by 2.5 years.
Organ specific regenerative neural cells modified from pleuripotent hemopoeitic umbilical cord stem cells can reverse cerebral palsy with or without epilepsy if employed well with anti epileptics and physiotherapy. Moreover, Methyl Prednisone is a potent post neural stem cell booster.
